Woori Yallock defeat Mt Evelyn in local footy

It was such a lovely day yesterday that I went down to watch Woori Yallock play Mt Evelyn in the local footy.......it was lovely to see Damien Monkhorst playing with his son Ben this season......

Ben played well and has been playing well in the Firsts all year......I have watched Ben grow up into the fine young man he is today........knowing him since he was a little tacker....
Ben also played in the Under 18 Interleague Team last weekend.....well done BEN!!
 

Damien still coaches the Woori Yallock Football Club and they are going well in the Firsts.....having lost only one game so far this season.....

The boys thrashed Mt Evelyn by about 14 goals......so that will boost their percentage now......woohoo....

I've missed going each week since we don't have any of our boys playing this season....but it was great catching up with everyone....

I have missed the social part of my life that local footy has provided for many years.

 I'll make sure I get to watch some more games this season......just love my Footy Fix....LOL!

Family Catch up and holidays in JUNE

Brian and Jess have now left and are painting their house at ROCHESTER......Rod is going up tomorrow to help out.....so should speed things a long a bit more for them.

We had them here for 13 days whilst Jess recovered from having her tonsils out.....and with complications and infection.....their stay was extended a bit. Jess is well now though.

Brendan turns 31 next Friday......so we are having dinner with he and Sally next Thursday before they head off to Paynesville for the long weekend.

Tim is home sick today.......upset stomach and running to the toilet....so I have been down to the chemist to get some stuff and he is on the improve. He doesn't get sick very often...but when he does he hates it......

Not long now until Adam's (nephew)Wedding...June 20th...so I'm off clothes shopping next week.....perfect excuse for some new clothes......LOL!

I'm counting down the days now until we go on holidays to Darwin......yep...getting in total holiday mode now.......and I have organised our accomodation,airfares and suitcases.

I need a total break from work for 3 whole weeks....can't wait!!

We are flying to Darwin and spending 5 days doing our own thing around DARWIN.....then we join our TOUR GROUP and visit KAKADU and surrounding areas.......we are so darn excited to be able to do this trip....we are both avid gardeners ....so we are looking forward to seeing all the flora in this region ......especially the Lotus plants and Waterlillies!

Then we head towards BROOME for 9 days.......going through the OUTBACK as we have never seen it before......and into the KIMBERLEY'S.........we are also thinking of doing a Helicopter flight over the BUNGLE BUNGLES.........we stop over at KUNUNURRA where the movie AUSTRALIA was filmed.......even have plans to go on a camel ride on CABLE BEACH....and we shall be in BROOME for the FULL MOON when we get to witness the Stairway to Heaven........wohoo.......hope to get some great shots.

So my cameras shall be packed and ready well before we head off on June 23rd.

Rod and I love to travel .....we love exploring new parts of AUSTRALIA....this country is so varse and we want to see as much of it as we can whilst we can!

I took this pic a few days ago...I can't believe that this Begonia is still flowering so strongly out under the back veranda as it's been much colder weather this past week.

We also have brought home some of the smaller garden ornaments from the BLUE LOTUS WATEGARDEN NURSERY during the off season......take a peek .......I love my garden gnomes.....LOL!

Biggest Morning Tea fundraiser today @ Scrappy Hollow

Thought I'd share the layout class I taught today at Scrappy Hollow in Ringwood/Croydon North this morning for the Biggest Morning Tea.(click on the pics for enlarged views)

 I wanted to show participants how you can use the Fiskars Border Punches in creative and fun ways.....and how you can also just add one punched out embellishment to a photo for a nice look.

We used the Fiskars Diamond Border Punch for the pink punched edge and then we used it again for the brown strip on the lefthand side of the photo but we pushed it underneath the pic a bit further so that only one row of the diamond pattern could be visible. So same punch....but different placements on the layout.

Here are some of the happy participants who helped make the morning successful.....
  Rosemary and Carolyn....good friends of mine who came to show their support for the Cancer Council and to have some fun crafting!

Debbie and Cheryl decided to change their photo matt "portrait" which was fabulous.....they knew exactly what photo they wanted to add later when they get home......I love it when class participants do this and think creatively themselves...changing a layout design to suit their own needs......fabulous!

We have so much fun when we all get together each year for this event!

Biggest Morning Tea today @ Scrappy Hollow

I'm just about ready to leave for Scrappy Hollow where I'm helping run a Biggest Morning Tea along with Heidi Jeffrey's and her wonderful staff........Sam and Jules.......from 10am -12.

Can't wait to have some crafting fun and also get together to share our Cancer Stories with others and raise some more Awareness and also raise some funds for the Cancer Council!

Biggest Morning Tea in Ringwood @ Scrappy Hollow next Wednesday

Hi everyone,

Well I'm off to Scrappy Hollow in Ringwood next week on Wednesday May 27th for the Biggest Morning Tea fundraiser for the Cancer Council......can't wait....this is the 5th year I have run this along with Heidi Jeffreys(LSS owner)

I'm teaching a layout class.......nice and simple...which is hard for me....LOL!

We shall be using the Fiskars Border Punches....that's all I'm telling....LOL!

Jules is also teaching a fun card class during the morning which runs from 10am -12.

Cost for the morning is $15 donation to the Cancer Council.

.....we will supply a scrumptious Morning Tea....and Heidi (owner) is donating product for the fun classes....Fiskars have donated some door prizes........thanks guys....and I'm donating my time and corny jokes.....LOL!

Having lost both my parents to this awful disease I like to give something back to the Council Council each year as they were very helpful and supportive to myself and my family during trying times.

We hope to raise some more awareness and also raise some more funds doing what we all love doing!

It's so nice to be able to get together and share Cancer Stories also......sometimes the best therapy is to unload and share.......with others.......

I'd love to see some of you there.....let me know if you can make it!

What a game last night......

WOW....what a fabulous game it was last night at Telstra Dome when GEELONG defeated Western Bulldogs by only 2 points in a nail biter of a finish!

It was an amazing experience to witness such a fantastic game of AFL football with my family! I loved the whole thing.....to see the players in real life and to also be able to see the whole ground...which you don't see watching on TV.......

Both teams played so well......and Steve Johnson's performance was amazing to watch....he is so talented around goals......as was Ackermanis fro the Western Bulldogs.

Here are a few pics I took last night.......it was also Jason Ackermanis's(Western Bulldogs) 300th AFL game and he played so well........think he may have got an injection in the third quarter....came back on and continued to play well......not too sure....but he went off  for awhile and went into the clubrooms.......

Club mascot........the big CAT.....he came around the ground in a car......and then walked and danced around the boundary line before the game ....and at half time....hyping up the crowd........so good!

off to watch GEELONG play at Telstra Dome tonight

I'm off to watch GEELONG play the Western Bulldogs tonight in the AFL at Telstra Dome with Brendan, Michael and Rod.

I  have my CATS scarf, hat and mascot all ready....just have to grab my CATS blanket.......woohoo......so darn excited!!    

My first AFL game at Telstra Dome......you'll hear me CHEERING in cyber space.....LOL!

Mike barracks for Western Bulldogs.......me GEELONG........Brendan....Essendon...and Rod Carlton....so Mike and I shall be cheering the loudest.......he,he.

Geelong players shall all be wearing orange shoelaces.......

Led by program ambassadors Tom Harley, James Kelly and David Wojcinski, Cats players will be wearing orange shoelaces in support of the Just Think campaign against alcohol related violence.

The program originated in 2008 after these players watched a story on 60 Minutes featuring James Macready Bryan, a young Cats fan who was assaulted in Melbourne on his birthday. Disappointed by the increase in alcohol related violence in Geelong, the players joined forces with the Geelong Advertiser and Just Think was born.

Just Think encourages people to make better decisions when consuming alcohol to ensure everyone returns home safely after a night out.

What a great thing to be involved in for the GEELONG FOOTBALL TEAM!

Might just have to see if I can't get some pairs of these orange shoelaces......

...and the layout below I did on the Fiskars Craft Blog on MONDAY for my BOM (Book Of Me)Prompt of my parents.......

We have had Brian and Jess stay with us for the past week whilst Jess recoups from having her tonsils out last Friday!

She is finding it a bit hard.....and they told her she would feel worse until the 5th day after the op...which is tomorrow....so hopefully she will start to feel a bit better.......nice to have the Kids home though for a while.

Must admit having 6 in the house again means there is never a dull moment....LOL!

It's also nice for the boys to catch up...in fact Brendan arrived last Saturday night and stayed for dinner...so we had the four boys back home for an evening meal...so nice!

I managed to purchase some BABY embellishments from " Scrapsadaisy" last weekend at The Picture To Page Show....so I'm wanting to craft some BABY things when I get some time...maybe once the Kids leave......

Sally is going along well with her pregnancy......we are counting down the months now.....4 months to go...woohoo.....can't wait!

Brendan is shouting me to the GEELONG /WESTERN BULLDOGS AFL match this coming Friday at Telstra Dome......so Rod and Michael are also coming.....Mike barracks for the WB.....and with me the avid CATS supporter.......it should be fun!

Can't wait to wear my GEELONG SCARF and HAT....yes...I have all the gear!
