Last day of WINTER

WOW.....Did you realise that today is the last day of WINTER here in AUSTRALIA?

WINTER seems to have flown by me this year.......and the signs  of SPRING are already around us out in the environment.....have you noticed the changes?

Back later today with some signs of SPRING from the Garden! Today is the last day of the COLOUR CHALLENGE at Fiskars Craft have you been playing along with the Ambassadors?

September sees the start of anotrher FUN CHALLENGE over at Fiskars Craft so make sure you pop in tomorrow when Michelle Wallace annouces further details!

WOORI YALLOCK defeat MONBULK in local footy

WOW.....what a change in a week....after losing by quite a few goals last Saturday to MONBULK in the local YARRA VALLEY FIRST DIVISION FOOTBALL today was WOORI YALLOCK'S turn to win........well done to all the boys!!

They now play UPWEY next SATURDAY in the PRE-LIMINARY FINAL...if they win that they are into the GRAND FINAL........well done guys!!

Woori Yallock have won the right to host 3 Football/Netball Grandfinals....1st Division,2nd Division and Junior Football Grandfinals!! Fantastic for the club.......

She knows something.....sh.....sh.....sh........but I ain't telling....well not just yet anyway.....maybe soon......Can you guess what it might be?

We are chasing orange now for the next 4 days....over at Fiskars Craft

I thought I'd share this pic I took in April this year at the International Melbourne Garden Show.

This was the CFA Stand......it just blew us way....with such vibrant orange colours in the flowers......and the Firestar Rose was just amazing.........these are now available to purchase as are the Jane McGrath Pink Roses.  What a fabulous display so soon after the dreadful Victorian Bushfires! Nature really can be so harsh....but also so beautiful....and flowers are a sign that life does go on......

PAPERIFIC EXPO coming soon

WOW...it only seems like the JUNE PAPERIFIC was last week....but hey...the next one is only3 months away....so time to get saving for a splurge before the Christmas rush....a great time to stock up on some cardmaking supplies.....just in time for Christmas.

Had a great day at the local footy on Saturday watching the boys play against Monbulk....sadly the guys lost.....but they have another chance to play Monbulk this coming Saturday Aug 29th in the first final........I think it's over at Yarra Glenn.....but need to confrim this.

So looks like the black and yellow ribbons and streamers will fly again this coming weekend......

Something fun for Father's Day

I 've been playing around trying to work out what to give my FIL for Father's Day this year and decided on this cute little Gift Favour" that I have put some chocolates in for him.

All I need to add now is a little card....back later with that.......

How exciting!! Another one bites the dust.....

Brian and Jess have set a Wedding Date.......March 13th next year....2010....how exciting!

They have chosen a gorgeous venue......more info in the next few weeks.

At the moment they are still travelling and working their way around AUSTRALIA.....in Queensland at the moment driving tractors for a Vegetable Grower......up near Townsville.

,,,,and Sally finished teaching today .......so she now has a month to prepare before the baby arrives......so it's all happening in this family!

Off to watch Woori Yallock play Monbulk tomorrow in the local footy...should be a great last Home and Away game......Monbulk beat Woori last time they played........let's see if the boys can win tomorrow!

I'm hoping to get some sewing done over the weekend...wish me luck! I have a little project that I want to get finished in the next week.......sh.....sh......I need to get a wriggle on.....or this BABY will be here before we know it.....LOL!

mellow yellow ~ out in the garden

I love this time of the year in the garden with all the gorgeous daffodils out in full bloom in our garden.........just in time for Daffofil Day next Friday August 28th.

Daffodil Day is a Cancer Council fundsraiser day to raise Awareness of Cancer.....ironically it's on my Dad's birthday....Aug 28th....he would have been 83 this year! So this time of the year is very special to me.....I look at these daffodils and remember my wonderful Dad......and also my Mum who died of Cancer also 23 years ago. My wonderful parents gave me such a wonderful life and I owe my love of gardening to these two gorgeous souls....MY PARENTS!
 

I love to pick the flowers from our garden and bring them inside so that we can enjoy them both inside and outside the home! There are flowers in my country kitchen on most days........they really brighten up my mood and help set the tone for the day!
