Having some time out to design a sample Christmas Card for the next Probus meeting.
It's hard to know what the oldies would like.....so I've tried to use a pretty embossing punch for the side border, some double sided ribbon from my stash, some Ink from Stampin Up and some glitter Cardstock. Nice to play with some older but gorgeous Fiskars punches .
Having a craft day today inside by the heater.
I finished these two cards last night but after sorting through all the supplies I have with me I found a lovely Wedding Bells sticker so punched out a black background and added it to the Wedding Card.
I think this finishes it off nicely.....fills in that blank space.
Sometimes it pays to take a break and walk away from crafting for awhile. Then when you come back to it you have fresh eyes and may see something that needs adding to or enhancing.
We walked over to the Farmer's Market this morning to purchase some WUK WUK meat and came back with Sparkling Apple Juice, meat and some Camel's Soap. It's very cold out today as there is a cold wind coming off the lake.
We stopped by Pier 70 for a cuppa and I couldn't believe what I was seeing out on the verandah. This bird literally flew onto the outside table, pecked open a packet of sugar and demolished it in front of us....clever bird I say LOL!
Hoping to catch up with Rod's cousin Bev tomorrow before she heads off on holidays.
Here's another card done and dusted.....this one is for hubby's birthday in July when he turns the BIG 65
He isn't online so he won't see this he,he. SH...SH....SH
I used all Stampin Up products for this card and my trusty Fiskars Heart Punch.
Rosemary also turns 65 this year on August 9th so I am now working on her card.
Edited.......another card completed PHEW! I'm on a roll.....LOL!
Amazing what a bit of Kindy Glitz can do to lift a card.
I had forgotten how much fun it is to double punch with my Fiskars Border Punch.
Stencilling is something I don't do that often but I do enjoy doing it. Adding a few fairy stamps and some Kindy Glitz. Lastly a Birthday Sentiment Stamp from Stampin Up and another card is completed. Yeh!
For this last card I started out by adding the ribbon to the Cardstock with the intention of creating a birthday card for Brian (son) but I soon changed my mind and added some vehicle washi tape and changed it into a birthday card for Sam ( grandson).
Letters and number 7 are Stampin Up stickers and the two punched circles were created using my trusty Fiskars Punches. So sometimes I start out with an idea in mind when creating and then totally change my mind.....do others do that?
It's been nice to use up more of my Stampin Up craft supplies that were given to me last year.
They make card making a pleasure and so quick and easy to complete using fun embellishments, ribbons, etc.
Well....I'm very happy with my effort today!
A day off tomorrow whilst we catch up with family for lunch at the Bruthen Hotel.
I'm having a Christmas Craft Day today!
Made a couple of Kinetic Christmas Cards so far.....off to create more cards.
Might get out the Cuttlebug and do a few embossed cards.....haven't used my Cuttlebug for ages so I'm sure it will thank me for getting it off the shelf....LOL!
If anyone is after the Fiskars Tag Maker Punch it's available in Spotlight and Lincraft stores. It really does make it quick and easy to create professional looking fun Tags! You could also use it for other ocassions.....eg.birthdays,wedding,baby shower, christening, anniversary, engagement, etc, etc.
Still trying to use products from my stash without buying more but I may purchase another 3 D sticker sheet as I think these are fun and cute to use.
I often have a few projects on the go at the same time.
I do love crafting for Christmas.
Once I finish my cards I'm going to create some Christmas Favours for Christmas Day Lunch at Geoff's.....just need to work out numbers coming....there shall be at least 16 maybe 18 people. So thinking along the lines of something quick and easy but cute and fun.
Finished off a few more cards today.
I find I am more creative down by the water.
I guess I'm more relaxed and having uninterrupted time is invaluable for getting creative.
We did venture over to Raymond Island for awhile.
We managed to spot 5 Koalas and one baby Koala with it's mum.
On the way back we sat and enjoyed the NEW seats along the Foreshore.
Heading home tomorrow so I'll be back pricing products and creating more of our holiday Photobooks.
Hoping to still create about another dozen or so Christmas Cards in the coming weeks. I have already started Christmas shopping but I need to get a few more things for the family.
I love Christmas...love the lead up....love shopping.....love decorating the house....love having family and friends around to help celebrate.....bring it on!!!
Scroll back down to see more of my Christmas Cards!
I'm happy with the amount of cards I have made since holidaying in Paynesville.
Slowly but surely my Christmas Cards are being created.
I have had fun using some Stampin Up Christmas Pack Papers for the background on my cards.
I've also been punching a little to create some interest in my cards.....being the punch person that I am I always find that I am reaching for a punch or two to create my cards.
I have my Fiskars hand held circle punch here with me so have been using that tonight and also have the Bracket Frame Punch by Stampin Up.......two great companies that create quality craft tools!
A little stamping and some trimming. I had fun using up some Christmas Stickers as well.
Here's what my table looks like when I'm in my creative zone.....LOL!
Just decided to add some more bling......a bit of Kindy Glitz and Voila!!!
It's amazing how a little bling can really lift a card.....I love using it to tizz up my cards.
So inexpensive and yet so effective!
Are others creating their own cards this year? I hope I have inspired others to have- a- go at creating some fun and personal cards.....it's really not that hard....you just need to allow yourself plenty of time to sit and create.
Well it's gardening day today.
We haven't been here for a few months so lots of weeding and garden maintenance to do this weekend.
It's perfect weather for it!
Last day of October too....can you believe that!
Think we might bring some of these home with us.
Heading out for a cuppa in a few hours.
It started to rain a little so spent some time inside creating my Christmas Tags.
Quick and easy with my Fiskars Tag Maker Punch and some great Stampin Up products.
How cool is this punch!!! I love it. Not only does it punch the tag shape it also punches and sets the eyelet.
It was nice to use up more of my Heidi Swapp Christmas Pack.
I just added some bling with some Kindy Glitz.
We went to the movies tonight to see The Dressmaker......good movie.
I'm trying to be more creative with my scarves when we go out.....put two together....love this silk scarf I brought in Vietnam....just added a lace scarf that I purchased at the Stiches and Craft a Show last week.
Tied with a couple of scarf rings....very easy!
I got a little crafty this afternoon and created a Mini Album for some of my Photography Group Photos.
I wanted to document my Photography Journey that I have been on this year....in fact it started late last year after I upgraded to a Nikon 610 camera. I just love this camera.....I'm gradually learning how creative I can be with it.
So I had some photos printed off with Snapfish....I get 50 complimentary prints each month for 12 months because I added their app to my IPAD......gotta' love that!
I found some 6" x 6" plastic sleeves in my stash. Next I added some of my Stampin Up 6" x 6" patterned papers......these were perfect for this project as they are double sided.
At the moment I have just put the photos inside the sleeves...not adhered down yet.
Quick and Easy to compile. I just need to adhere the pics and also add more personal journaling.
Might do some more after dinner tonight. I just love what I have been learning with my Photography this year. The best thing I did was upgrade my camera and then follow up with some classes/workshops.
The Melbourne Photography Group is just fabulous.....It's so nice to share my passion with like minded people who are just as passionate and they just " get it".
So far I have learnt about Foreground Focus, Street Photography, Perspective, Horizons, Motion Blur, Portrait and People Photography , Night Photography and a little bit about Back Lighting......but I'm hoping to learn more about this topic in October when I attend another Melbourne Meet Up with Steph.
Along the way I have become more confident in using Manual Mode.....sometimes using Exposure Compensation and finally understanding the connection between Aperture,Shutter Speed and ISO....white balance, etc. Practise is the key....to keep using my camera on a regular basis so that things become second nature.
