Work and Play

The guys (Rod and Daryl)  have arrived down at Paynesville and are in the process of pulling the old roof off the front verandah.......their aim is to get this finiahsed as quick as they can ......then spend time fishing.......LOL!

I'm setting up my craft today in my room down here.....and then shall be right to craft the next few weeks....................I've already finished some more of Gemma's Journal......have had some pics printed off.....and getting a few enlarged pics tomorrow in Harvey Norman , Bairnsdale.

We had a little drizzle of rain this morning but it's a beautiful sunny day now down here.....love this weather.....love being down here......I've been walking and catching up with some friends....

Hit the shops yesterday in Bairnsdale...brought some new boots and jeans....now just need to go out to use them....he,he.

Oh.....and I'm loving the fact that I can walk to the NEW Ritchies in about 90 seconds.....do my shopping and then wheel the trolley back to the house......too easy......love it...there are also a few NEW Shops that have gone up in the past 4 months....can't wait to try out the NEW Reastaurants.....yeh!!!  It's a whole new experience for us when we have shops this close.....as we live about 2 kms from the town shops in the Yarra Valley....and down here we can walk everywhere.......no need to use the car unless we want to go to Bairnsdale.

Flowers are blooming - Lotus and Waterlily

The warmer weather is helping the LOTUS flowers and Waterlily send up magnificent blooms this year at the  Blue Lotus Watergarden  in Yarra Junction, Victoria.

Now OPEN 7 Days a Week until MARCH 31st......from 10:30am - 5:30pm daily!

Also open on Public Holidays in that time frame....next one being AUSTRALIA DAY Jan 26th

Bus Tour Groups have started coming up and shall continue through until closing......in case you missed my earlier post a few weeks ago...here's a little sneak peek...........sh.......sh.....shhhhhhhhhh    TURN YOUR SOUND UP!!! ENJOY!!

I'm working SUNDAYS now and helping out on other days as required....I'll be working AUSTRALIA DAY...Jan 26th....so if anyone is coming up then I'll be there.....also working Thursdays for ROD whilst he goes to the Vic Flower Market.....

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

I'm in the process of decorating our house for Christmas and have had fun putting up a few NEW Xmas Tree decos that we brought whilst in ALASKA in July/August.

We purchased these at the SANTA HOUSE, NORTH POLE, ALASKA......an amazing place to visit....I was just in awe of all the Xmas Decorations they had there from all over the World....

I was allowed to take pics inside SANTA'S HOUSE....so will share some soon on here....

Catch up

We are home now after having a week in EAST GIPPSLAND ....doing a little gardening maintenance down there.....and Rod went fishing most days.....just relaxing and doing things we love to do...we ate fresh fish for 3 days sooooooo nice!

I managed to craft getting some Xmas Projects finished...which I'm most happy about.....shall share some pics soon.....had lunch with Kay and Bev and Kevin......caught up with some neighbours....a nice relaxing week......

Our plants down there have grown sooooooooooo much.....very pleased with the way in which the NEW natives have taken.....we love to encourage the birds into our garden....

I enjoyed walking each morning and riding my bike around Paynesville.....EVEN HAD A RIDE down the Foreshore yesterday with Kay.....so nice as it's quite flat down there. There are a few new Restaurants and shops which have gone up......and we'll have the NEW Richies IGA open next time we head down there......opens on December 6th I believe.

Calving of the Glaciers

Found this pic as I have been sorting through my Alaskan holiday photos.....it's what they call the CALVING OF THE GLACIERS......(click on the pic for an enlarged view)

.....an amazing sight to both see and hear.....it's a loud roar like thunder when it happens....we just kept waiting to try and witness one...and we did....we were so lcuky....................we actually saw about 3 or 4 in College Fiord.....it's not far from Whittier in Alaska.

It's when the ice breaks off and falls away as the glacier is moving....

Melbourne CUP Day

Well today is Melbourne Cup Day.......the day that one Race stops this Nation of ours......even those that don't usually bet on horses place bets today.......it's a Public Holiday!

We usually go in a sweep or two....but this year we haven't......saving our money to go to FLORIADE next year in June....it's held in VENLO, Netherlands next year.....can't wait!

So today....I'm finally sorting through our ALASKAN photos and then creating my third Photobook..............................can't wait to get this finished!!

Hoping to then make a start on my Xmas Cards......maybe later in the week...I like to get them finished by the end of November.

Butchart Gardens

I'm slowly sorting through my holiday pics......found these ones tonight from the Butchart Gardens,Victoria,CANADA...July 2011

Rod and I both loved this place.....just walking along the paths and getting lost amongst the gardens was wonderful.

I've completed one Photobook of our time in the USA....just waiting on it to come back from the Printers.....so now I'm working on my CANADA Photobook!!

What fun we had on the Rocky Mountaineer Train...we caught it in JASPER and travelled for 2 days to VANCOUVER......stopping over night in KAMLOOPS.

Can't wait to do the ALASAKA one....we have so many great pics from there!!

I'm doing these books at night this week as I'm too busy pricing things during the day this week for Rod.....and we have SAM coming to stay over Thursday Night and Friday....so no rest for the wicked....LOL! I'm also working on a few fun projects!!

 

Great weekend

I have had a great weekend finally finishing my first Holiday Photobook....can't wait to get it back.....I'm now onto my CANADA Photobook and found this pic today that we had taken on the Banff Gondola.........................so I'll scan this in also.

Saturday Night we went out for dinner with relos and then to see "The Three Muskateers"...ok movie.....but the funny thing was that the projector broke down right in the exciting part and all of a sudden the lights and film went out.....with a BANG!!!! So darn funny....we couldn't stop laughing.

Then today Rod and I went to the UYSC 50 years Re-Union.....and we met up with people we hadn't seen for many years.

We finished off today with a lovely meal with Daryl and Maureen at the Wessy Pub.....so no going out for us now for awhile....LOL! I must admit the homemade apple pie was to die for....fresh from the oven....it was delicious!

I'm hoping to start planning my Xmas Cards this coming week in between helping Rod price things for the WATERGARDEN......I have a large order to unpack,price and re-pack.....it's never ending at the moment....but we'll get there.

more SHOW pics

It's been a whole heap of fun the past few days working in the CRAFT HUB at the ROYAL MELBOURNE SHOW with Rosemary and Rod.....I love having the opportunity to TEACH others how to craft....sharing my passion with others is such a great feeling!!

At times my table got a little messy.......but hey.....that's part of the whole creative process right....LOL! Rod and Rosemary grabbed my camera for these shots above...sneaky blighters...LOL!

Can't wait to do it all again next year....it was lovely to be able to introduce others to Papercraft...whether it be Scrapbooking,Cardmaking or Gift Boxes...we all had fun!!

We are working again TODAY!! in the ART,CRAFT PAVILION....so come play with us if you are coming to the last day of the SHOW!!
