Yesterday I ventured into Melbourne to join my Photography Group at the Botanical Gardens.
Our theme was " Nature " I hadn't seen the Bamboo Garden or the Ferngully and Volcano.
I tried to be a bit more creative in my composing yesterday.
I had a go at creating silky water effect.....a bit hard without a tripod as I had camera shake. But I loved experimenting with different settings.
Today I have created another Fairy Garden Display.
This is for Rod's Garden Shop....
Day 2 saw me arriving at 6:15am to attend a Photography Workshop.
I left Rod sleeping peacefully as I ventured out across the foot bridge and across to Commonwealth Park.
I was encouraged to go outside my comfort zone and to try Manual Focus.
I found it a little tricky to get use to at first but I persevered.
I had the best time....learnt so much.
Now all I have to do is to practise....
I am very happy with my effort.
I am tired now though so resting up.
Floriade is on in Canberra until October 16th...a great place to take the family.
Keep an eye on here for further details of my GIRLS NIGHT IN Fundraiser for the Cancer Council being held on October 24th at my place FROM 7PM.

Playing around with some black and white pics and vignetting....
I like this effect
Works really well on Monochrome pics.
Playing a bit more with this coloured pic I took last week of this Pelican.
Here's a few more pics of Charlie.
So using the Vignetting Filter make the subjects pop out more.
One last one of the Pelican
Being an overcast day I decided to go for a walk around the Forshore to see what I could see.
Plenty of fun reflections from the boats and yachts.
I spotted the Raymond Island Ferry about to take off...
Another little boat decided to go past before the Ferry took off.
The birds were quite happy looking for food.
I decided to play around with my camera settings to practise.
A cheeky pelican swam past me.
He wasn't going to stop.
Rod came with me
So we walked back along the Foreshore path.
They transported it to Paynesville. I remember when they first put it here it was vandalised a few times.
They then commissioned a lady to re-design the damaged nose.
It's been here ever since.....a nice piece of art work.
So a relaxing day it's been today....walking, photographing,Scrapbooking and even some online training completed for the AEC.
I rather like this pic...
If you have read to the end of my post WELL DONE!
A few more cards created from my own photos just for fun.
I do like to write, take pics and share my experiences with others.....that's just who I am!
It's a miserable old Saturday here today so I thought I'd get the camera out and focus on the little things outside from the shelter of the verandah.
Our lemon tree has plenty of lemons on it at the moment.....not many ripe yet.
A little more scrapping today .....still working on Chloe's Album.
Something that I wasn't expecting yesterday at the State Library....
There were two of these homeless men sitting outside at 8:45 am all rugged up.
Later in the day I spotted more men and women living on the streets....so sad!
The other thing that took my eye on arrival was all the litter everywhere.
There were bottles and papers scattered around under the seats and around the building.
What an eyesore to see at such a well known Victorian Landmark.
It was nice to spot this gentleman using a thermos....you don't see this much nowadays.
By about 10 am there was a hive of activity going on both outside and inside the Library.
This little girl was fascinated by all the chess pieces.
More and more seagulls were flying in as more people arrived to feed them bread.
People of all ages using laptops and computers.
It was interesting to nice that most people inside were not using books ...but computers.
Wendy and I were fascinated by this online studying going on before our eyes.
It's a sign of the times.....the internet is here to stay.
I loved the lights above each spot.
I loved all the old wooden chairs.
.....and check out how this guy is holding his pen whilst listening to music on his earphones.
I really enjoy my Photography Group Meet Ups.....I not only learn more about Photography but I'm also meeting new people and visiting interesting places and landmarks around Melbourne.
Our theme was " Story Telling "
So I have had a play around
A bit of fun
But wait...there's more...
One last set of pics......
I was up in the wee hours this morning to make the trip into Melbourne for my Photography Group Meet Up at the State Library.
I found this building amazing both inside and out.
So much character....so much history.
After our two hour session Wendy and I stayed back and ventured inside for a closer look.
People everywhere studying.
I absolutely loved this lead light of Shakespeare.
I had fun playing around with my settings to get different effects.
I hadn't been inside this building for years....other than to use the Public toilets.
White Balance changes here...
Fun! Fun! Fun!
I'll post more tomorrow after a good night's sleep.
Our theme was " Story Telling Photography " ...What's that you may ask?
Basically taking a group of photos that tell a story.... A beginning....middle...small details.....surroundings,etc...
